Used Gear & Trade-Ins

FOR BUYERS:

Item Availability: All Used Items are available in store.

Our used ski and snowboard inventory changes very rapidly (hour by hour) during the winter season. For this reason, we do not offer used skis and snowboard gear online. Please come to the store.

All Used Gear sales are final: No returns or exchanges once it is taken from the store (if you purchase online and pickup at store, you can inspect the item and if not to your satisfaction we will issue a refund).

Used Gear Shipping: We ship used gear,  but recommend picking up the item at the store so you can inspect your item. Free shipping does not apply to Used Gear. 
 
Used Skis and Snowboards do not come tuned (unless indicated). We recommend you have the gear serviced before use. Click here for a link for more information on ski and snowboard service.  New skis and snowboards are factory tuned.

Ski bindings will need to be adjusted and inspected to ensure they work properly for the boots and skier weight, height and ability. Legally, we require a physical signature (not digital signatures or authorizations) of the skier or parent. Therefore we can only do binding adjustments for customers picking up their order from the store. There is a $15 charge for track mount ski adjustments on used skis (or free with new ski purchase). We also require the right boot for binding adjustments. If you would like the bindings on your online order for instore pickup installed, please indicate in the Notes Field on checkout  the following:  Age, Weight, Height, Ability (Cautious, Intermediate, Aggressive). The binding adjustment fee can be paid on pickup.

 

Used Gear Classification

A+
  • Brand new, looks like it was never used.

A

  • Great shape, been used a few times, but practically new with perhaps a few scratches/wrinkles

A-

  • Great shape, never been repaired. Nearly new, some scratches and dirt

B+

  • Good shape. Used a reasonable amount but well taken care of. Still shiny.
  • No repairs

B

  • Used but in good condition
  • If repaired done professionally and would not effect performance

B-

  • Good condition but seen reasonable use. May be dirty
  • May have some repairs

C

  • Still works fine.
  • Well used, likely has repairs or is dirty.

FOR SELLERS:

Trade-In values will be given by a manager at the store. We can not offer values over the phone or online. For watersports gear, you are likely to get more money selling your item(s) at one of our summer Gear Swaps or privately or online (ie on Kijiji or Ebay). However, you will find doing a trade-in at NorthLine is convenient and quick. Also, on a trade-in towards a new item, you get the tax (13%) benefit.
 
You will receive a store credit (we don't give cash back) that can be used anytime. 
 

SKIS & SNOWBOARDS:

We take Trade-Ins on the following items from October-February:

    • Newer good condition Downhill skis and boots
      • Note: ski bindings have an indemnification typically of 10 years, after which we cannot service the skis.
    • Newer good condition snowboards, bindings and boots (note: used boots are not worth much)

We don't take Trade-Ins on Poles, Helmets, Goggles or other accessories.

BIKES:

We take Trade-Ins on newer good condition bikes from March to August.

WATERSPORTS:

Windsurf:

  • Newer (wide) Boards
  • Newer good condition Sails
  • Good condition Masts & Booms

SUP:

  • Good condition SUP boards & paddles

Kiteboard:

  • Newer good condition Kites, Boards, and Bar & Lines

Wingfoil:

  • Newer good condition boards, wings and foils.

Items we do not take in on trade are: 

  • Older items or broken items
  • Accessories
  • Outerwear, Goggles, Helmets, etc
  • Wetsuits, PFDs, etc
  • Wakeboards, waterskis, towable tubes.
